Carrie

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Reading, Writing; Math, Science; Academic: Math.

Carrie is currently a senior at the University of Washington where she studies Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences, Engineering and Physical Science division, with minors in Applied Mathematics and Music. Prior to UW she received her AA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Cascadia College through the Running Start program. She discovered her particular passion for academic tutoring and coaching after working for Seattle MESA, but her love for teaching of all kinds extends from dog training to piano pedagogy. In her free time, Carrie enjoys camping, hiking, and reading. Her favorite author is C.S. Lewis.

Celina

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Reading, Writing; Math, Science; Academic: Math.

Celina grew up in Kirkland and attended Syracuse University in New York, where she received a B.S. in Public Policy and Earth Science. From 2015 to early 2017, she worked for Teach for America in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where she taught Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and Human Anatomy. When she is not coaching at PrepNorthwest, she enjoys training for local half-marathons, watching reruns of Psych, and drinking coffee.

Chris

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Math, Science; Academic: Math.

Chris grew up in both Snoqualmie and Phoenix. After high school, he received a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics Education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. After graduation, Chris worked at BASIS Flagstaff, a college prep charter school, where he taught various Math classes including AP Statistics, Calculus AB, Calculus BC and Pre-Calculus along with coaching chess and tennis. Beyond coaching students at PrepNorthwest, Chris is also a teacher at Newport High School. In his free time, Chris enjoys watching and playing sports, catching up on the newest T.V. shows and movies, and trying out new board games.

Connor

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Math, Science; Academic: Math.

Connor is originally from Fort Worth, TX and has spent most of his life in Mill Creek and Snohomish, WA. He obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2016. Connor has been a peer tutor and specialized in chemistry and math ranging from algebra to calculus. In addition, he tutored algebra students at Rainier Beach High School through Seattle MESA. Connor loves coaching and sharing his passion for learning with students. In his free time he enjoys playing video games, particularly puzzle and strategy games.

Grant

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Math, Science, Reading, Writing; Academic: Math, Spanish

Grant grew up in nearby Mill Creek, Washington before attending the University of Washington where he currently studies Political Economy. It was in high school that Grant discovered his passion for teaching and serving others, where he spent years volunteering as a peer tutor for English, Math, and Spanish. Also having worked as youth flag football coach, Grant is dedicated, hardworking and an energetic coach that you would want on your side. His ability to draw on both his tutoring and coaching skills to support his students is unrivaled. When Grant is not studying or supporting students either in the classroom or on the field, Grant can be found running, playing tennis, reading, or hiking with his dog. Grant hopes to attend law school in the futures to eventually become a pubic interest lawyer, and ultimately create a life serving and supporting others.

Jasmine

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Reading, Writing; Academic: English, Writing.

Jasmine received her B.A. from Western Washington University, where she majored in English/Creative Writing and minored in Communications. While attending college, she was a reporter for her school newspaper, where she worked with her fellow editors to create newspaper layouts, copy-edited submitted pieces, and interviewed fellow members of her community. Jasmine realized she loved helping others achieve their academic goals when she taught a college-level public speaking class, where her tasks included helping students with grammar, formatting, and coaching them before their speeches. In her free time, she loves reading/watching Harry Potter, quoting Gilmore Girls, and geeking out about the British Royal family.

Kate

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Math, Science, Reading, Writing; Academic: Physics, Math, Latin.

Kate grew up in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from a nationally ranked engineering magnet school and now studies at the University of Washington where she is majoring in Comprehensive Physics and Latin and is minoring in Mathematics. Kate has been tutoring her peers since she was in middle school and enjoys nothing more than sharing her passion for learning with others. She is currently the treasurer of the UW chapter of the Institute for Nuclear Materials Management in which she has excelled in welcoming and teaching incoming members as well as organizing large scale timelines and events. In her free time, Kate enjoys video games, running, and eating enchiladas.

Paloma

Paloma grew up in the Bay Area before moving to Bellingham, WA to attend Western Washington University where she received her BA in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing. Afterwards, she moved to Chicago where she attended the The School of The Art Institute of Chicago where she earned her Masters in Writing (MFAW). Besides traveling and spending time with her family, Paloma loves reading and writing above all else, and she can almost always be found with her nose either stuck in a book or writing in her notebook till her hand gives out.

Ruth

Specialties: SAT/ACT: Math, Science; Academic: Chemistry, Math.

Ruth graduated from Skyline High School in Sammamish, WA with an International Baccalaureate Diploma, and recently graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.A. in Biochemistry. She has been tutoring since her junior year in high school, and has experience tutoring Algebra I/II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP/IB Calculus, and AP/IB Chemistry. Aside from teaching, Ruth loves traveling with her family, trying new restaurants, and baking. A coffee fanatic, you can find Ruth visiting new coffee shops in her free time.
